The Last Detail 2008 Road Rally
September 27 and 28, 2008 |
VSCDA members and guests are invited to attend The Last Detail 2008 Road Rally on Saturday and Sunday, September 27th and 28th, 2008. This will be the 5th Annual Rally, sponsored by Tom Snellback’s The Last Detail. The rally is an informal event giving you the opportunity to enjoy driving your favorite vehicle on some great roads with beautiful scenery, sharing the experience with friends.
The event is open to VSCDA members, and non-members as well. This is not a speed event – there is no timing and scoring, no prizes, just a great drive. Although vintage sports cars are encouraged, any vehicle is welcome! The event starts at The Last Detail on Saturday morning with an informal gathering of the participants. We leave in groups of about 5 cars each, with detailed instructions (meaning that you will not have to argue with your navigator!) – in fact, several participants drive solo, following their group leader.
Our exact location will be finalized this summer, but will be in Wisconsin within about 150 miles of The Last Detail. We will have a lunch break at a nice restaurant, followed by more exciting driving over some of Wisconsin’s best rural roads. By late afternoon, we will arrive at our destination for some relaxation, cocktails and dinner. Sunday morning has time for some sight seeing, perhaps 9 holes of golf, a leisurely brunch, and a less structured return drive.
Please note that you can participate in as much or as little of this event as you choose – you can come to The Last Detail to see the cars and chat with the participants, participate in some or all of the road rally, come to the lunch, come to the dinner and/or stay overnight at our destination, or any combination!
Advance reservations are required for the rally ($50 fee per car), the lunch (a la carte), the dinner (price to be determined), and lodging (price to be determined, usually 30 days advanced reservations required). Entry forms will be available this summer on The Last Detail’s website (www.thelastdetail.com), but mark your calendars now.
