The 2008 VSCDA Race Drivers School May 1 & 2 Race School Q & A
For new drivers to racing or current racers, the VSCDA Spring Brake Drivers School is regarded as one of the best drivers schools in the country put on by a vintage organization. Bob Shedd, VSCDA Chief Driving Instructor, assisted by VSCDA Driver Coach, Duck Waddle, and a host of VSCDA veteran Instructors, give this school a very favorable Instructor/student ratio. All students are required to participate in the Thursday evening classroom as well as the Friday on track sessions. Friday schedule consists of 5 track sessions and a 4 lap race. Following each session there is a meeting and question/answer session. Upon successful completion of the school, participants are given VSCDA driving privileges. Experienced drivers will find the VSCDA Spring Brake Drivers School a great opportunity to get 5 sessions of seat time under the watchful eye of experienced Instructors who can help them work out problems and bad habits that may have developed in their driving. It is an opportunity to experience a day of low pressure track time to help prepare you for the 2008 racing season.
Spring Brake 2 Day Race May 3 & 4
The emphasis for 2008 will again be on offering our drivers plenty of seat time to reacquaint them with their race cars and shake off the winter cob webs. In 2007 we were able to offer 3-1/2 hours of track time per driver on Saturday and Sunday. This year we will again offer bonus track sessions at the end of race activities on Saturday. In conjunction with our Race Drivers School the goal of the event is to get all of our drivers up to speed for the 2008 racing season.
Race #1 of the Formula Vee Series
Sunday morning’s first race will be Race #1 of the Formula Vee series. This always brings out 25 to 30 of some of the best restored Formula Vees in the country. The race is exciting because the cars run so close together.
