VSCDA has decided on the following policy on the retention of permanent car numbers:
If the car has not competed in a VSCDA event for two years, the number can be reassigned to another member's car at any time.
If the membership of the car owner has lapsed for one or more years, the number can be assigned to another member at any time. The member who previously held the lapsed permanent number may reapply for the number. The request to re-assign the number to the original car owner can be supported by meeting the above criteria (i.e., reinstating membership or entering the car in the next available VSCDA event, as applicable). The number will be reassigned by the VSCDA office if it is still available. The determination of the eligibility of the member to regain the number will rest solely with the VSCDA office.
